After nearly three decades of marriage, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness have officially closed this chapter of their lives. As per a report in People, the couple has finalized their divorce and is preparing to move forward with grace.

New Yorkâs Suffolk County Supreme Court filed the judgment of divorce on June 12, according to online court records.
The court uploaded the documents to its website on Monday, June 23, according to People. The case now appears as “Disposed.”
Furness, 69, had filed for divorce from Hugh Jackman, 56, on May 27 â nearly two years after the couple first announced their separation in September 2023. The filing was uncontested, requiring only a judgeâs final approval.
Furness Reflects on Healing and Personal Growth
In a statement, as per The Daily Mail, Furness spoke candidly about the emotional journey. After filing for the divorce, she said, âMy heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,â she shared.

âItâs a profound wound that cuts deep; however, I believe in a higher power… always working FOR us,” she continued.
“This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose.”
She added: âIt can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.â
A New Chapter for the Family
Jackman and Furness, who share two adult children â a son, Oscar, and a daughter, Ava â were married in 1996.

The couple announced their separation in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. At the time, they released a joint statement published in People: âOur family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
Life After Divorce: Moving Forward
The divorce comes four months after Jackman went public with actress Sutton Foster, his “Music Man” Broadway co-star, in January.Â

Foster, 50, had filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Ted Griffin, in October 2024, after 10 years of marriage.
Furness was last seen stepping out in New York City on May 20 at the 2025 Parsons Benefit, just days after Jackman and Foster were photographed holding hands in Manhattan.
As they close a nearly three-decade chapter, both Jackman and Furness appear focused on moving forward with grace, each embracing lifeâs next phase with dignity and strength.
