If you’re looking for new episodes of your favorite <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/chicago-fire-star-daniel-kyri-emotional-goodbye.html/”>Windy City-set dramas</a> this Wednesday, you’re out of luck. <em>Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. </em>and <em>Chicago Med </em>are all on break until early next year. </p>

<p id=”par-6_71″>The <em>Chicago Fire </em>midseason finale ended on multiple cliffhangers. In “Pierce the Veil,” <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/taylor-kinney-net-worth.html/”>Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney)</a> and Tom Van Meter’s (Tim Hopper) investigation of a fire at a local school led them to believe someone was deliberately targeting the principal, Mr. Cole. As the pair visited Cole’s apartment, a fire broke out in the stairwell, and a mysterious individual fled the scene as Severide and Van Meter were trapped inside. </p>

<p id=”par-7_68″>Meanwhile, Firehouse 51 newbie Sal Vasquez (Brandon Larracuente) was distressed after his dad’s parole hearing. Violet (Hanako Greensmith) invited him out for a drink, and when we last saw the pair, they were closing down Molly’s and planning to head to another bar. Finally Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) got word about planned CFD budget cuts, which could mean some painful decisions are on the horizon at 51. </p>

<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-why-are-the-one-chicago-shows-taking-a-break”>Why are the One Chicago shows taking a break? </h2>

<p id=”par-8_34″><em>Chicago Fire</em>’s brief hiatus might be frustrating for fans, but it’s not surprising. With the holidays approaching, NBC has moved the Dick Wolf dramas off the schedule temporarily to make room for seasonal programming. </p>

<p id=”par-9_13″>What’s airing in place of the One Chicago shows? Here are the highlights: </p>

<li>November 26: <em>Countdown to the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade </em>(8 p.m. ET/PT)<em>, </em>followed by <em>A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving </em>(9 p.m. ET/PT). </li>

<li>December 3: <em>Christmas in Rockefeller Center </em>(8 p.m. ET/PT) and <em>Christmas in Nashville </em>(10 p.m. ET/PT). </li>

<li>December 17: <em>Jimmy Fallon’s Holiday Seasoning Spectacular </em>(9 p.m. ET/PT). </li>

<li>December 24: <em>It’s a Wonderful Life </em>(8 p.m. ET/PT) and <em>Christmas Eve Mass </em>(11:30 p.m. ET/PT). </li>

<p id=”par-10_41″>One holiday special will not air as planned this year. NBC has expected to broadcast <em>Snoop Dogg’s New Year’s Eve </em>on December 31. But that has been canceled, <a href=”https://deadline.com/2025/11/snoop-dogg-new-years-eve-live-special-scrapped-nbc-peacock-1236608050/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Deadline</a> reports. It’s not clear what the network will air in its place.  </p>
