Jennifer Lopez is about to be an empty-nester, as her 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme, are going away to college.

In the latest episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the former “American Idol” judge got emotional while discussing her children graduating from high school and preparing to move out of her multimillion-dollar mansion.

“Don’t talk about it, I’ll start crying,” Lopez told Kimmel, seemingly choking back tears.

The “On the Floor” hitmaker revealed that she’s been “crying for two months” and will definitely cry some more at their graduation ceremony.

“I think all the parents are going to be crying at some point,” Lopez added. “I hope so.”

Jennifer Lopez’s Twins Prepare to Move Out

Lopez’s twins, Max and Emme, are going to different colleges, and the singer is completely supportive of it.

“I mean, it’s fine,” Lopez added. “I want them to be happy. Go where they want to go, do what they want to do.”

The “Enough” actress is also hands-on in helping her kids move into their dorm rooms, despite the commotion due to her superstar status.

“There’s a commotion everywhere you go. Will you be able to move them into their dorm?” Kimmel asked.

“Absolutely,” Lopez replied. “I do all the things, yeah.”

Despite her eagerness to help Max and Emme move out, part of her still hopes they might change their minds and decide to stay at home instead.

“We’re going to pack up their rooms here and they’re going to take all the things that they want to take to their dorm,” Lopez continued. “Then they’re going to realize that their dorms are too small and that they’re they’re going to miss home, I hope, and want to come back real soon. That’s my point.”

Jennifer Lopez is One Supportive Mama

Lopez also opened up about her own experience of wanting to move out of her parents’ home and be independent.

“I remember being that age and thinking I couldn’t wait to get out in the world and do my thing. Like I really wanted to get out,” the “Let’s Get Loud” singer recalled.

So when it comes time for her kids to make the same decision, she’s very supportive of it.

“All year, people asked me, ‘Oh, are they going away to college? It’s going to be terrible.’” Lopez shared. “I’m like, ‘No, it’s going to be great. I want them to go out there. I want them to do what they want to do. They have big dreams. They have things they want to do. It’s going to be great.’”

Lopez shares the twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony. In February, Lopez penned a heartfelt message to Max and Emme as they turned 18.

“‘I love you’ could never encapsulate the depth of feeling, affection, and care that I have for you, my coconuts,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “It has always been the three of us!! We have been on this journey together. We have always had each other to hold on to and be that steady presence in the middle of any snowstorm. And I promise you, my beautiful coconuts, no matter how big you get, that’s how it will always be.”
