JK Rowling insists she’s ‘not doing as she’s told’ after Elon Musk’s trans swipe

JK Rowling’s X account has become a stream of tweets aimed at transgender women and even Elon Musk appears to have had enough.

The Harry Potter author has been the subject of much controversy as she continues to campaign against trans women in women’s spaces.

She recently clashed with Daniel Radcliffe as he revealed he feels ‘so sad’ now when he thinks about the 58-year-old author.

The Miracle Workers star has been a long advocate of trans rights and Rowling previously said she wouldn’t ‘accept an apology’ from him over their opposing views — not that he appears to be offering one.

Now, X owner and Tesla founder Musk has stepped in and told Rowling to branch out with her repetitive tweets about the trans community.

‘While I heartily agree with your points regarding sex/gender, may I suggest also posting interesting and positive content on other matters?’ the 52-year-old businessman said.

He had replied to a tweet by Rowling in which she attempted to define a woman without alienating any cisgendered women but excluding trans women.

X users were in hysterics at Musk’s tweet, pointing out he had essentially called Rowling ‘boring’ and ‘annoying’.

‘Imagine being so annoying that the absolute King of Being Annoying tells you to tone it down a bit,’ wrote Joe S Farrar.

Blake added: ‘You know you’re obsessed with trans people when even Elon Musk thinks you should maybe talk about something else sometimes 😂😂.’

‘Did… Elon just call JKR boring???’ asked Rachel Charlton-Dailey as Alex Watt added; ‘When Elon Musk thinks your transphobia is getting a bit much now, you’ve officially hit a new low.’

‘If the lamest guy i knew rolled up to call me a loser to an audience of millions i’d probably end it all right then and there,’ joked sallysauerkraut.

Conspiracy theorist David Icke came to Rowling’s defence and said: ‘May I suggest it’s none of your business?’

Rowling appears to have taken Musk’s reply in good faith as hours later she tweeted a link to ‘more positive content’ as an interview she had done was published.

‘Hahaha, just realised that I missed being advised to share more positive content yesterday…’ she wrote.

‘Sharing this about my writing life, which happens to have been published today in The Sunday Times, should in no way be interpreted as me doing as I’m told😉.’

Musk replied to this and said: ‘I need to be reminded of this myself from time to time.’

After this, the Cuckoo’s Calling author returned to her usual tweets as well as promoting some of her other interviews.

The interaction with the Space X founder comes after Rowling’s behaviour was addressed by long time LGBTQ+ ally and Harry Potter icon, Radcliffe.

The Miracle Workers star confessed: ‘It makes me really sad, ultimately, because I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic.’

He continued to the Atlantic: ‘Jo, obviously Harry Potter would not have happened without her, so nothing in my life would have probably happened the way it is without that person. But that doesn’t mean that you owe the things you truly believe to someone else for your entire life.’
