Joe Jonas Reveals ‘Scary, Intimidating’ Part of Divorce with Sophie Turner

Celebrity divorces are messy and always in the public eye. Joe Jonas admitted he felt scared to fall in love again after his divorce from Sophie Turner.

Opening up about his new song “Only Love,” the singer shared that getting back into dating was both “scary and intimidating.”

“I was seeing somebody at the time and I was kind of having this idea of dating again. It was really scary and intimidating,” Joe said during a conversation on TalkShopLive stream on Wednesday.

“Love takes different shapes and forms and I was rediscovering what that was,” he claimed. But the person he was seeing at the time eased his worries by simply saying, “Well, it’s only love.”

35-year old Jonas added, “I was like, ‘Well, when you put it that way…’ So we wrote a song about it,”

“Like, it was not a big deal, but it was a big deal to me, and a big deal to them, too. But it’s OK to take a leap of faith and just try again and put yourself out there.”

“Only Love” will appear on the musician’s new album, “Music for People Who Believe in Love,” dropping Friday.

Jonas and Turner finalized their divorce in September 2024 after a messy custody battle over their two daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2.

The “Game of Thrones” alum, 29, had previously launched a lawsuit against the DNCE singer, accusing him of withholding their daughters’ passports and preventing them from returning to England, her home country.

In a statement from his rep, the Jonas Brothers band member denied his ex’s allegations, calling the lawsuit a “harsh legal position” that went against the “amicable co-parenting setup” he believed they were working toward.

Turner eventually dropped the filing after they reached a co-parenting agreement.

The former couple called it quits in September 2023 after four years of marriage.

Jonas started dating model Stormi Bree in January 2024, but the romance only lasted five months. Last June, he was seen cozying up to actress Laila Abdallah in Greece. Months later, he was spotted with a mystery woman in Paris.
