John Travolta Honors Late Wife Kelly Preston With Emotional Birthday Tribute

John Travolta marked what would have been his late wife Kelly Preston’s 63rd birthday with a poignant tribute that reflects their enduring love.

Travolta shared a heartfelt message on Instagram on Monday, October 13, accompanied by a photo of Preston with a big smile. 

“I recorded this song for Kelly and I want to share it with you all on her birthday. Happy birthday Kelly, we love you. -John, Ella and Ben,” he wrote.

Remembering Kelly Preston

Kelly Preston was an accomplished actress with a career spanning over three decades.

She appeared in more than 60 television and film productions, including “Twins” and “Jerry Maguire.”

Preston began her acting career in the 1980s and quickly rose to fame.

Travolta and Preston married in 1991 and had three children: Jett, Ella Bleu, and Benjamin.

Their son Jett tragically passed away in 2009 at the age of 16. 

On July 12, 2020, Preston died at the age of 57 at their home in Clearwater, Florida, two years after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Ella Travolta released a song in September 2024 that was about her late mother. 

The song, “Little Bird,” detailed how she felt after her passing, as Ella told PEOPLE at the time.

“It had been a couple years, obviously, since my mom’s passing, so I could look at the whole situation and take a step back from it and see what I wanted to communicate on it and what I wanted to communicate to her and what I was feeling in general,” she told the outlet.
