Kelly Osbourne reveals she wore a wig at Grammys after ‘scary’ weight loss

Kelly Osbourne said she has ‘no idea’ how much weight she had lost following the death of her father Ozzy last year, saying she ‘wasn’t very well’.

The singer, 41, has revealed how her friends and family raised the alarm after being left concerned over her appearance, but Kelly said: ‘I couldn’t see what other people saw because I was in so much pain. I just saw a broken person.’

The late Black Sabbath star died from a heart attack at the age of 76 in July 2025.

Kelly has now explained how she ‘shouldn’t have gone’ to the 2026 Grammy Awards, held in February in Los Angeles.

‘I looked like the f*****g Crypt Keeper,’ she told The Mail on Sunday. ‘I said, “This is scary. I didn’t know I looked like this.”

‘I wore a wig to cover my face, so you couldn’t see how skinny my cheekbones really were,’ she added.

‘They knew I was going through something. So, we were trying to find clothes to not make me look skinnier,’ she said of her stylists on the night.

‘I was scared. I wanted to be there to support my mum and to pay tribute to my father’s legacy. But in all honesty, when I reflect on it, I don’t think I should have gone. I wasn’t very well.’

The former reality star, who recently split from Slipknot star Sid Wilson, who is the father of her three-year-old son Sidney, revealed how she tried to shield her child from the pain she was experiencing.

‘Whenever he walked in the room, something would come over me and I’d snap into Miss Fun Mum,’ she explained.

‘I didn’t cry in front of him; I’d walk out of the room. I always made sure that he was not exposed to inappropriate sorrow.’ 

Kelly revealed she now has plans to ‘make a three-part documentary series on grief and mental health, and what I went through, and tell my story because there’s a lot that people don’t know.’

Earlier this year Kelly said she felt ‘dehumanised’ by criticism of her appearance after her appearance at the 2026 Brit Awards where she honoured her father alongside mother Sharon.

‘There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most.’
