Lindsay Lohan has shared a rare, heartwarming photo of her son on Instagram, with an equally emotional caption showing just how much being a mother has changed her life.

The movie star opened up about motherhood and described how it has shifted her priorities, bringing a deeper sense of purpose and gratitude to her everyday life. She reflected on how becoming a parent has been the most transformative experience she has ever had.

Lindsay Lohan Calls Herself ‘Lucky’

In a May 28 Instagram post, Lindsay Lohan shared a rare photo of her son Luai. The little boy had his arms wrapped around her neck as he kissed her cheek.

The “Freakier Friday” star captioned the pic, “Lucky Mama.” She followed her remarks with a white heart, a smiling emoji, and a tiny golden star.

Lohan’s mother, Dina, commented, “So beautiful hunny. We are blessed,” hash tagging the image #Godsgifttomoms #Grandmoms #Deedee.

She and Luai’s father, her husband Bader Shammas, reside in Dubai. She moved there in 2014 to escape what she was were the stresses of living in Los Angeles.

Lohan told Kelly Ripa in July 2025, “It’s just far away from Hollywood, and I live a very normal life. There’s no worry of like, I can’t go eat at this place ‘cause someone’s gonna take a picture of my son. And it’s just, I feel very safe.”

She added that paparazzi culture doesn’t exist in Dubai because it’s illegal to take photos of someone without their permission. She told the talk show hosts, “It’s not legal. You can’t take a picture of someone else if you’re in a restaurant. You have to ask the person, which is a big difference from here.”

Lindsay Lohan Says Being a Mother is the ‘Best Thing in the World’

Lindsay Lohan opened up further about motherhood to Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. She called the job “the best thing in the world.”

She couldn’t stop smiling when she talked about Luai. The former teen celebrity added, “I live and breathe him.”

Opening up further about her son, she admitted he was in a dinosaur phase. “It’s a constant ‘ROAR’ and it gets louder as we go throughout the day.”

“He knows them all [the names],” she continued. “I don’t understand.”

As her schedule shifted to accommodate her son’s early rising, Lohan admitted that when he was little, she didn’t wait for him to wake up before she entered his room. “I get so excited to see him first thing in the morning,” she told the talk show hosts.

“Now I make my tea first, write in my journal. Then I’m slowly going to walk in there,” she admitted. “Once I’m in there, it’s over, and there’s no ‘me’ time.”

However, despite her hectic schedule, Lohan finds that journaling helps center her each day. She admitted this is a newer aspect of her day that she really enjoys.

“I always loved to journal. I do my gratitude list and all that. It’s pretty important to me, and I like to start my day with that; it feels good,” Lohan concluded.
