Karrueche Tran may be best known for her past headline-making relationships, but her recent role in Deion Sandersâ life is turning heads for a very different reason. The 37-year-old actress and model was shown at Sandersâ side throughout his battle with bladder cancer, as seen in the 2025 documentary “For Your Glory”. Though the two havenât confirmed their relationship, their emotional bond was clear as Tran supported the 57-year-old NFL legend through surgery and recovery.
Karrueche Tranâs Career, Relationships, and Rise to Emmy-Winning Actress
Karrueche Tran first gained public attention through her on-again, off-again relationship with singer Chris Brown between 2011 and 2015. Their turbulent breakupâwhich included the revelation that Brown fathered a child with another womanâplayed out publicly, with Tran telling Real 92.3 LA, âI cussed him out⦠that was just the icing on the cake.â
Despite the drama, Tran focused on her career. In 2017, she was granted a five-year restraining order against Brown after alleging violent threats and previous physical abuse. Brown denied all wrongdoing.
She went on to date NFL wide receiver Victor Cruz from 2017 to 2021. Cruz spoke highly of their relationship and praised her bond with his daughter, telling Us Weekly, âShe is just a beautiful person and I love everything about her inside and out.â
Professionally, Tran carved out her own Hollywood path. After landing her breakout role on the web soap “The Bay”, she made history as the first Asian Pacific American actress to win the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress. She later starred in “Claws” on TNT, appeared in “Bel-Air”, “The Nice Guys”, and “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot”, and picked up two more Emmys for producing.
Tran Supports Deion Sanders During Cancer Battle
In “For Your Glory”, released in July 2025, viewers got a close look at Deion Sandersâ journey through bladder cancer treatment. Karrueche Tran was by his sideâoffering emotional strength and even helping him take his first steps after surgery.
âWe are dealing with bladder cancer,â Tran says tearfully in the documentary. âHe is having his bladder removed⦠it fully removes the cancer to ensure it doesnât come back.â
Neither Tran nor Sanders has confirmed their relationship, but her presence at his hospital bedside confirms the two are at least close.
