Mira Sorvino Defends Fellow Star Against Online Troll

Mira Sorvino

Mira Sorvino isn’t about to sit back and say nothing when another star is facing an online troll. That’s why she responded when one took aim at “And Just Like That” star Kristin Davis.

On Thursday, November 13, someone hopped onto Threads and shared two photos of Kristin — who happens to be 60 — that were taken years apart.

“I will never understand why women do this to themselves,” the social media user wrote. “She was a gorgeous woman!! She’s had so much Botox, it took away her l original and one of a kind traits! Doesn’t even look like her anymore!”

Plenty of people responded to the comment, including Mira.

“When people like yourself are publicly commenting on actresses’ appearances, you know we are only human and feel a lot of pressure,” the star wrote. “I think she looks beautiful, and I think you wouldn’t like it if people were dissecting images of you online taken decades apart.”

Mira also added, “Let’s support each other not tear each other down.”

Mira may have been willing to stick up for Kristin, but she certainly wasn’t alone.

Former “Queer Eye” cast member Bobby Berk wrote, “People do it because millions of people like YOU feel the need to comment and post about their appearance no matter what they do OR don’t do. Let’s normalize STFU about the way people look 😘”

“Imagine aging in the spot light. It’s hard enough without people picking your every decision apart,” another person added.

A third Threads user wrote, “Ask Sarah Jessica Parker. She decided not to fall into the presssure of the eternal youth look and people are criticizing her appearance, as if having wrinkles and aging is a sin.”

Kristin Says ‘It’s Hard to Be Confronted with Your Younger Self’

Kristin has been open about the fact that she has taken advantage of certain treatments or procedures to address her aging, telling The Telegraph (via People) that “it’s hard to be confronted with your younger self at all times.”

She also admitted that she has “shed tears” over the negative response to the work she had done.

“I’ve had to get them dissolved, and I’ve been ridiculed relentlessly,” she said. “And I have shed tears about it. It’s very stressful.”

“It’s a challenge to remember that you don’t have to look like that,” she also noted. “The internet wants you to — but they also don’t want you to. They’re very conflicted.”

As for how she now feels about both fillers and the accompanying criticism, she explained, “It’s whatever. I can’t keep it up. I don’t have time. You’re trusting doctors [but] people personally blame us when it goes wrong — [as if] I jabbed a needle in my face.”
