Olivia Rodrigo recently announced her all-female festival with some incredible artists, but one man has declared he’s ‘not going to perform’.
The former Glastonbury headliner, 23, revealed stars like Chappell Roan, Stevie Knicks, Garbage, Doechii, Katseye, and more for her Daisy Chain Fields.
While Olivia said how excited she was for the festival, which kicks off on August 29, the drummer for Cigarettes After Sex wasn’t so impressed.
Jacob Tomsky, 47, randomly commented on social media under a video of the Drop Dead singer, saying he wouldn’t be performing at the all-female festival.
‘We won’t be there lol tf,’ he wrote in a since-deleted comment, to which someone asked what he meant.
He replied: ‘I mean, it feels like some forced promo for a festival, right? I’m just saying our band won’t be performing there.’
The American dream pop group, who formed in the late 00s, currently consists of three men: Greg Gonzalez, Randall Miller, and Jacob.
Fans were baffled by the drummer’s assertion since he likely hadn’t even been asked to perform, given his gender presentation.
‘The festival being only for female artists my god, WHY comment that???’ asked Loisville on X.
‘Declining to go to a party you never received an invite to lmfao,’ joked Cranberrykewch as saintllon branded him ‘weird’.
Graci3ann333 added: ‘Oh great because he was clearly invited😭 why can’t grown men just shut up.’
Stan account about_rodrigo wrote: ‘Jacob answered no, but Olivia Rodrigo hadn’t asked anything.’
Olivia’s lineup is filled with female performers, from rising stars to legendary singers, who the singer called ‘heroes and friends’.
The proceeds from the festival, which will take place on August 29 in Irvine, California, US, will be donated to charities that are advancing and advocating for women and girls.
Announcing the news on Instagram, she shared the festival poster, which features a flower of pins, with one saying ‘Bans off our bodies’ referring to a US abortion rights campaign.
The post said: ‘Truly never felt more excited to share a piece of news with you all.
‘I’ve had a dream of doing this festival for years and I am so ecstatic its finally coming true!!
‘Daisy Chain Fields features an all-women lineup and 100 per cent of the net proceeds will go to charities dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls.’
She called the lineup ‘truly insane’, adding: ‘I firmly believe that joy, community, and music can be the drivers of meaningful change and I’m hopeful this festival will be just that.
‘I absolutely cannot wait to scream and dance and sing with you guys August 29th!!!!’
It comes weeks after the singer released her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love, which has since topped the UK album chart and marked the biggest opening week of her career.
