Neil Patrick Harris’ Daughter, 15, Looks So Grown Up in Rare Red Carpet Appearance

Harper, the 15-year-old daughter of Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, made a rare public appearance alongside her dad on Monday, Nov. 17, at the New York City premiere of “Wicked: For Good.”

Dressed in a sparkling light-green sequined ankle-length dress paired with a black furry coat, Harper turned heads as she confidently navigated the red carpet, her poised demeanor reflecting her teenage years.

The event marked one of Harper’s few outings in the spotlight.

While she arrived with Burtka, her twin brother, Gideon, did not attend.

Harper’s appearance highlighted how quickly the twins have grown, a point both parents have reflected on in past interviews.

Born in 2010 via surrogate, Harper and Gideon have always been central to Harris and Burtka’s public and private lives.

Despite their fame, the couple has prioritized raising their children with normalcy, often keeping them out of the media spotlight.

Harper’s presence at “Wicked” gave fans a glimpse into her burgeoning personality — confident, elegant, and effortlessly composed, much like her father in his theater days.

Burtka Previously Dished on His Children Growing Up

Burtka, a Broadway actor and chef, seemed both proud and protective as he walked the red carpet with Harper.

He previously told E! News in November 2022 about watching his children explore the world on their own terms, balanced with the nostalgia of seeing them grow up so fast.

“For me, it’s really been about mourning your kids,” he said. “I’m in mourning of seeing them grow and seeing them clip their wings and letting them be their own people.”

He added, “No one ever tells you that as a parent, but it’s inevitable. It’s wild to see the kids they’ve become. It’s amazing and it’s also a little sad.”

Harris Often Shares Sweet Moments on Social Media

While Burtka and Davis keep their children away from the spotlight, they will occasionally share moments on social media.

For their 14th birthday in 2024, Harris shared an image of the two celebrating their birthday. 

“I have never been more proud of anything in my entire life, and I suspect I never will,” he wrote. “My husband David and I marvel at their maturity, are wowed by their warmth, chuffed by their charm. We love them both unconditionally, and their hugs fill us with life.”

He concluded the post with a bit of humor.

“We don’t say any of this to them, obvs, or they’d recoil or leverage it to their advantage. But they’re not on Insta, so I’m free to speak honestly. They’ll never find out,” Harris added.
