Perez Hilton’s family have said he’s in a ‘serious but stable’ condition after being hospitalised following an alarming livestream.

Police were seen outside the celebrity blogger’s home in Miami on Tuesday after members of the public reported seeing him self-harm in a TikTok livestream.

In a new statement after the incident involving the 48-year-old, his family have said his treatment and recovery will be a ‘long process’.

A post shared to his Perez Hilton website on Saturday confirmed he remains in hospital, adding: ‘Perez’s condition remains serious but stable.

‘He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days. His treatment and recovery will be a long process.

‘We are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday.’

The statement added: ‘His communication has been extremely limited and confined to immediate family, medical providers, and others directly involved in his care.’

They added that Hilton ‘has not communicated with the media or issued any public statements.’

‘As our family remains focused on Perez’s treatment and recovery, we also need the space and privacy to care for everyone affected by this situation.’

On Tuesday Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed they attended a scene of a man allegedly ‘livestreaming acts of self-harm’.

Perez has three children, a son and two daughters, born via surrogate.

His family later confirmed that his children, niece, and sister, had been forced to flee the home to prevent them from ‘witnessing any further trauma’ when it was clear he was having ‘a severe mental health crisis and harming himself.’

‘Our highest priority right now is helping the children begin to heal from what they experienced. An important part of that process is allowing them to safely return home and begin rebuilding a sense of security and normalcy,’ his family said in a previous statement shared earlier this week.

Perez, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, rose to fame in the 2000s as a celebrity gossip blogger.

The popularity of his blog eventually declined, and he moved into a career in reality television, appearing on shows including Celebrity Rap Superstar and Celebrity Big Brother.
