Rayman is getting his own board game and the figures are adorable

If you’re in dire need of another Rayman fix, Ubisoft’s mascot is getting his own physical board game later this year.

Rayman hasn’t received a mainline entry since 2013’s excellent Rayman Legends, but now fans of Ubisoft’s platformer finally have something to look forward to.

A new Rayman board game has been announced, which sees 2 to 5 players ‘team up with your favourite heroes in an epic race, dodging dangers and saving the Teensies’.

While it’s unclear how the game actually works, a first look image shows figures of Rayman and Globox, so it’s likely there will be figures of other characters on the box, like Murfy and Barbara from Rayman Legends.

The board game is designed by Maxime Tardif, known for the engine building game Earth, and Montreal-based studio FLYOS, who created role-playing board games like Vampire: The Masquerade – Chapters.

Rayman The Board Game is scheduled to launch in Q3 2024, and you can subscribe for updates on the official website here.

The platforming mascot last appeared as DLC in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks Of Hope. In recent years, he’s also appeared in various mobile games, like 2019’s Rayman Mini and Rayman Fiesta Run.

It’s unclear if this new board game might lead to a proper sequel to Rayman Legends, especially as Rayman creator, Michel Ancel, retired from the games industry back in 2020, leaving the franchise’s future up in the air.

If you want to experience one of the best platformers of the century though, Rayman Legends is only a mere £3.39 at the moment on Steam.
