<p id=”par-1_57″>For the last several years, one royal has beaten out all the rest when it comes to the hardest worker in terms of attending the most engagements. However, Princess Anne no longer holds the title of the “Hardest Working Royal.” But the person crowned the family’s hardest worker in 2025 has surprised a lot of people. </p>

<p id=”par-4_52″>That title for 2025 goes to King Charles. The monarch clocked a whooping 532 engagements over 12 months, beating out his sister, who racked up 478 engagements this year. According to The Mirror, the royals completed 2,458 total engagements through Dec. 18, meaning that the king carried out 22% of those himself.</p>
<p id=”par-5_64″>The reason this has surprised many people is because King Charles announced in 2024 that he had cancer and was still receiving treatment for that throughout 2025. His commitment to his work while undergoing that proved that nothing could stop the monarch from fulfilling his royal duties. On Dec. 12, the king announced that his cancer treatment schedule would be reduced in 2026. </p>
<p id=”par-6_31″>The third hardest-working royal this year is Prince Edward. He carried out 313 engagements while his wife, Duchess Sophie (<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/queen-elizabeth-ii-refused-give-prince-edwards-wife-sophie-wanted-wedding-day.html/”>formerly the Countess of Wessex</a>), took the fourth spot with 235 engagements.</p>
<p id=”par-7_56″>Queen Camilla was fifth with 228 engagements in 2025, followed by The Duke of Gloucester, who completed 212 engagements, and Prince William, who carried out 202 engagements throughout the year. The Princess of Wales (<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/dont-be-fooled-this-is-what-kate-middleton-was-really-like-in-school.html/”>formerly known as Kate Middleton</a>) completed 68 as she made her gradual return to work following her own battle with cancer. </p>

<p id=”par-9_22″>Royal historian and author Gareth Russell previously told <a href=”https://www.gbnews.com/royal/kate-middleton-prince-william-lazy-reputation-latest” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>GB News</a> that William seems to be prioritizing family over work just like his mother did.</p>
<p id=”par-10_40″>“This is where you very much see that William is Diana’s son,” Russell said. “Recently, there has almost been a perception that he is Charles’ son and Harry is Diana’s son. But you know Diana was immensely close with William.</p>
<p id=”par-11_99″>“The danger for [the Waleses] is that even though this is almost certainly motivated by prioritizing their home life, it has enabled their critics to paint them as lazy. That reputation can take quite a bit of time to shirk off at the moment. Because of the difficulties the monarchy has had in the last few years, William and Catherine were very much expected to be the star players and to be the star attraction for positive publicity. If they’re not seen as often, there is a risk that they enable their critics to write the story for them.”</p>
