Jake Reiner Dodgers returns to podcast

Jake Reiner is taking a step forward as he continues to process an unimaginable loss. Jake, whose parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, were killed late last year, recently spoke out about the emotional toll in a deeply personal Substack essay published on April 24.

He recalled learning the news on December 14 while attending a memorial for a friend, when his sister called with devastating updates. More than three months after suffering the loss, Jake is now moving ahead in life.

‘The Incline’ Confirms His Return Alongside Co-Host Kevin Klein

The 35-year-old podcast host is set to return to “The Incline: Dodgers Podcast” this week after taking time away following a deeply personal loss.

Jake has co-hosted the podcast with Kevin Klein since 2019, offering fans an in-depth look at all things Los Angeles Dodgers. After his time away, Klein continued hosting the show solo.

On May 4, the podcast’s official Instagram account confirmed his return, sharing a graphic that read, “Breaking/ Jake Reiner returns to The Incline on Wednesday.”

The caption added, “WE ARE SO BACK. Wednesday 6 PM Pacific.”

For Jake, the podcast has always carried a deeper meaning beyond the game itself.

It reflects a bond shaped by family, one that has been passed down through generations through a shared love of the Dodgers.

In a 2023 interview with People magazine, he and his father spoke about how that connection became a constant in their lives.

“My dad was a huge, huge baseball fan. He passed it onto me, and I passed it onto Jake,” his father said at the time.

That connection remained part of their everyday rhythm. “My dad and I talk daily about the Dodgers,” Reiner shared.

Moving Forward While Holding Onto What Matters Most

Jake’s return to the podcast reflects a quiet but meaningful step forward as he continues to heal.

In recent weeks, he has shared the depth of his grief, offering an honest look at what it has been like to navigate life after such a sudden loss.

His words speak to both the weight of that experience and the resilience it takes to keep moving ahead.

“My world, as I knew it, had collapsed. I was in a trance,” he wrote. “The only thing I could focus on was that I needed to get to my childhood home. I needed to get to my sister. I needed to figure out what the hell just happened.”

Jake also reflected on how much was taken from him in that moment, writing that he was “robbed of so many things that day,” and describing it as a “living nightmare.”

Now, the 35-year-old is preparing to return to “The Incline: Dodgers Podcast,” a space that has long held personal meaning, as he begins to rebuild a sense of routine and connection.

As he grapples to live with the loss of both his loving parents, for him, the Dodgers have long been part of his identity, shaped by years of shared experiences with his family.
