Veteran actor Robert Wagner is 96 and has left an incredible mark on the entertainment industry, but on Saturday, May 30, his fans took notice not because of one of his career milestones, but for the love he has for his granddaughter, Clover Watson.

Robert Wagner Celebrates His Beautiful Granddaughter’s Birthday

The actor posted a sweet photo on Instagram of himself and Clover smiling at each other while she leans against him. It is her 14th birthday. In the caption, he shared his thoughts, writing, “Happy Birthday to our beautiful Clover! Wishing you a day filled with love, laughter, happiness, and all the sweet moments that make birthdays so special. Hope your year ahead is as bright and wonderful as you are! – Love Grandma and Grandpa.”

Clover is the daughter of Natasha Gregson Wagner and actor Barry Watson. Fans celebrated with Robert in the post’s comment section. “Happy birthday Clover!! Have a wonderful birthday!! And congratulations to you too sir, on your granddaughter’s birthday,” a comment reads. “Happy Birthday beautiful precious Clover! You can see in this picture how much your Grandfather loves you,” another person shared.

Other reactions include, “Wishing you the best day full of love and fun with your family Clover,” “I love that she has Love in her name Happy birthday Clover,” and “Happy Birthday Clover! May you have a wonderful day with your family.”

Wagner also included several hashtags, one for his late wife, Natalie Wood.

The former couple was married at the time of her untimely death on November 29, 1981. Her death was ruled as drowning, although some fans have cast doubt on the full story of what happened to her. Wood was 43. Before Wood’s death, she was a parent to two children, Courtney Brooke Wagner and Natasha Gregson Wagner.

Remembering the Late Natalie Wood & Her Legacy

Clover starred in an advert campaign for the fragrance line, Natalie, inspired by Wood. In photos, Clover posed alongside her mother, Natasha. In 2025, Natasha gave an interview to People, where she shared more about her daughter and the similarities between her and her late mother.

“She’s curious about my mom’s level of fame,” Natasha said of Clover. “She’s aware of young people that are famous and she’ll say, ‘How famous was she?’ Like Justin and Hailey Bieber or something?’”

She continued, “She just got to see “Splendor in the Grass,” [Wood’s 1961 film] and that’s a pretty intense film, so she’s intrigued by the emotional spectrum of her performances. Clover is a very sensitive person. And I think she has that example in her grandma, being vulnerable but also such force.”

Clover may share some of her late grandmother’s personality traits, but she also appears to have a very close bond with her grandfather. In an Instagram post celebrating her 13th birthday in 2025, Robert shared a photo of them together and penned a sweet message.

â€œHappy 13th birthday to my beautiful granddaughter, Clover,” he wrote. “Watching you grow into such a smart, kind, and spirited young lady has been one of life’s greatest joys. Grandma and I are so proud of you and the young woman you’re becoming. Welcome to your teenage years—this is just the beginning of a wonderful journey. We love you so much.”
