Sacha Baron Cohen has hit headlines after Rebel Wilson named him as the ‘a***hole’ she mentions in her upcoming book.
Known for his infamous satirical comedy characters, the 52-year-old Borat actor denied allegations which are seemingly set to be laid out in the Pitch Perfect actress’ memoir next week.
Wilson vowed she would not be ‘bullied or silenced’ by Cohen’s lawyers over the mysterious contents of one chapter in her upcoming book, which appears to make accusations against the Ali G actor.
The memoir, called Rebel Rising, details the Hollywood star’s journey to acting success.
Ahead of its release on April 2, the 44-year-old Hustle actress identified Cohen as the unnamed a**hole she refers to in a section of the memoir.
Taking to Instagram stories, Wilson wrote: ‘I will not be bullied or silenced by high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers.’

‘The “a*****e” that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen.’
Sacha released a statement through his lawyers denying the claims made in her book, which appear to revolve around their film Grimsby, released in 2016.
The statement says: ‘While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.’
It’s unclear which direct allegations the statement is responding to, but Rebel has previously spoken about her time filming the movie in 2014, telling Australian outlet Kiss FM she had been pressured to do nude scenes.

Who is Sacha Baron Cohen?
Sacha Baron Cohen – best known for his satirical comedy characters including Ali G and Borat – was born on October 13 1971 in Tower Hamlets, East London.
The comedian studied history at Cambridge University, before working as a model and eventually moving into the world of TV, initially hosting shows for cable channels in Windsor.
Cohen found himself on Channel 4 after sending in an audition tape of himself as a fictional Albanian TV reporter called Kristo, who would inspire Borat. He landed jobs hosting regional shows and got his big break on The 11 O’Clock Show.
Here, Cohen introduced leader of the ‘Staines Massive’ Ali G, who would leave interviewees baffled by his unexpected questions.

From this Da Ali G Show was born, where Cohen introduced Kazakhstani character Borat and Austrian fashion reporter Bruno.
He took all his characters to the big screen in various films including Ali G In Da House in 2003, Borat in 2006 and Bruno in 2009.
His latest big film was in 2012’s The Dictator where he plays Aladeen, a brutal dictator who travels to New York.
Other movie appearances include Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables, Anchorman 2 and Hugo.
In 2016 Cohen starred as football hooligan Nobby alongside Wilson in The Brother’s Grimsby. She played Dawn Grobham, Nobby’s wife and mother to their 11 children.
The film also starred Mark Strong, Penelope Cruz, and Baron Cohen’s real-life wife, Isla Fisher.
Who is Sacha Baron Cohen’s wife?
Sacha Baron Cohen is married to Australian actress Isla Fisher, 48, after the pair met at a party in Sydney in 2002.
Fisher converted to Judaism and they married on 15 March 2010 in a Jewish ceremony in Paris.

Isla is known for her roles in romantic comedies Confession of a Shopaholic and Definitely, Maybe, as well as 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers and the 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
Her TV appearances include Arrested Development in which she plays Rebel Alley, and her most recent credit is as Mary in Wolf Like Me.
They have three children – daughters Olive, 17 and Elula, 13, and nine-year-old son Montgomery.
