Sarah Jessica Parker is set to receive a prestigious honorary Golden Globe Award at the 2026 ceremony.

The star of “Sex and the City,” 60, has been chosen as next year’s recipient of the Carol Burnett Award, which is bestowed by Golden Globe Foundation for “outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen.”

Parker will be presented with the prize, which was named after its inaugural 2019 winner, during the first-ever “Golden Eve” special, which will air on January 8 on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Following a press release, the news of Sarah Jessica Parker’s award quickly reached various news outlets, including E!

The statement, shared by Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne, read, “Sarah Jessica Parker’s career embodies the very spirit of the Carol Burnett Award, Her trailblazing impact on television and her dedication to storytelling across stage and screen have left an indelible mark on popular culture. We are honored to celebrate her extraordinary contributions to entertainment.”

Parker’s impact on the television world has indeed been significant. As well as her iconic role in “Sex and the City,” she’s appeared in shows like “Square Pegs,” “A Year in the Life,” “Equal Justice,” “Divorce,” and “And Just Like That…” (the latter of which saw her reprise her role as Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex and the City”).

She also has a number of production credits, which include most of the television shows she’s worked on since she began producing in 2002.

The company Sarah Jessica Parker will be keeping as a recipient of the Carol Burnett Award is esteemed, to say the least.

As well as Burnett in 2019, the list of winners comprises Ellen DeGeneres in 2020, Norman Lear in 2021, Ryan Murphy in 2023, and Ted Danson in 2025.

Of course, Parker is no stranger to the Golden Globes herself. She’s been nominated no less than 14 times and has won six — all of which wins were for “Sex and the City.”

In 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004, she won the “Best Actress in a Television Series — Comedy or Musical” award for her role in the show. And in 2001 and 2002, she won the “Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy” award as an executive producer.

We’d like to extend our most sincere congratulations to Sarah Jessica Parker for being the next winner of the Carol Burnett Award. We’ll be looking forward to seeing her receiving it next year.
