Sean “Diddy” Combs just spent Thanksgiving in prison. The disgraced mogul is currently serving out a 50-month sentence at a low-security prison in New Jersey. Combs reportedly funded a special Thanksgiving feast for the inmates. He said he wanted to lean into the family-oriented nature of the holiday.

At FCI Fort Dix, inmates receive a Thanksgiving meal, but Combs and a group called the Bankroll Bosses wanted something a little nicer. They bought food from the commissary, prepared it using creative methods, and distributed it to each housing unit.

“We cooked the food and sent it to all the buildings,” an inmate named B.I. told <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.tmz.com/2025/11/28/diddy-organize-thanksgiving-for-inmates-fort-dix/” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>TMZ. “Enough for about 200 people each building. It took two days to prep everything.”

Combs said he wanted to bring a sense of family to the prison.

“Thanksgiving, to me, is about making sure other people eat,” Combs said. “Everybody misses their family. People get depressed during the holidays. We just wanted to come together as a family and do our own thing.”

Though he’s only been at Fort Dix for a short time, Combs feels that he’s made a home for himself there.

“There’s a lot of misinterpretations about prison. There is a strong brotherhood. We all look out for each other. It’s nothing but a positive thing,” he said, adding, “It’s like a little bit of home in a dark place.”

Combs and his team intentionally worked to get him into Fort Dix. The prison is low-security and has seen a number of other big names serve out sentences within its walls. It also has a drug rehabilitation program that Combs’ attorneys felt would serve him well.

“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the Court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix for RDAP purposes and any other available educational and occupational programs,” defense attorney Teny Geragos wrote, per <a target=”_blank” href=”https://6abc.com/post/sean-diddy-combs-requests-serve-sentence-low-security-prison-fci-fort-dix-nj/17952538/” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>ABC News.

While Combs’ team wanted him at Fort Dix, they are actively working to get him out. Shortly after his sentence began, they requested a speedy appeals process, which a judge granted them.

“The jury made it very clear in their verdict that they acquitted him of the sex trafficking and the RICO counts,” Geragos told <a href=”https://abcnews.go.com/US/sean-diddy-combs-lawyers-allege-judge-acted-13th/story?id=126205254″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>ABC News. “Not guilty means not guilty.”
