“Today” anchor Sheinelle Jones was happily married to Uche Ojeh from 2007 until his tragic passing in 2025 after a battle with glioblastoma. During their marriage, they welcomed three children: a daughter, Clara, and two sons, Uche and Kayin.

Although losing her husband was tremendously difficult, Sheinelle was never alone.

In a new interview, the journalist bravely spoke about the friendships and sisterhood she and her “Today” co-stars have cultivated.

Sheinelle Jones’ ‘Today’ Co-stars Rallied Around Her During Her Late Husband’s Cancer Battle

As the co-host of “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle,” Sheinelle Jones has quite a large fanbase and viewership. But she also has a circle of close coworkers that she has dubbed a “sisterhood.”

Access Hollywood recently caught up with Sheinelle Jones to discuss a variety of topics, including everything the “Today” cast experienced in recent years. From the loss of Sheinelle’s husband to the abduction of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, the cast has faced many hardships.

But no matter how challenging the situation, they’ve all supported one another.

“Obviously ‘Today’ has been through a lot with Savannah and everything she’s gone through… It’s a really hard time,” the Access Hollywood reporter says.

“I talk about the fact that sisterhood is so important in the mom village,” Sheinelle replies. “When my husband was sick, they were all there for me. I mean, in the trenches, behind the scenes. You guys didn’t see it, but you know, they were with me at the hospital and Hoda was there. I mean, everybody was just by my side the whole time. So now if another sister has something, we do the same thing.”

“Oh, we love hard,” Shenielle added, noting she would always bet on her team.

The ‘Today’ Sisterhood Supports Savannah Guthrie

Despite her mother’s tragic abduction, Savannah Guthrie made her return to “Today” in early April 2026. Prior to her return, Savannah visited the “Today” set, giving her co-stars an emotional reaction. Hoda Kotb teared up as she rallied around her friend during the crisis.

In a heartfelt Instagram reel, the “Today” anchors fondly describe their love for Savannah, noting how she always supported them during their darkest chapters. Hoda Kotb reveals that Savannah was the first to visit in the hospital when her own daughter was hospitalized. Savannah was also among those who sat with Sheinelle Jones and her husband at the hospital during his cancer fight.

Although the road has been long and arduous, fans are thankful the “Today” cast has one another to lean on.

“Today with Jenna & Sheinelle” is on at 10 a.m. weekdays on NBC.
