It has been reported that the Spice Girls are set to reunite and are currently secretly planning a world tour.

Geri Horner, Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham first got together 31 years ago and formed one of the most iconic girl groups of the 90s.

With hits including Wannabe, Spice Up Your Life, Say You’ll Be There, and Who Do You Think You Are, the group dominated the charts until their devastating split in 2000.

Over the years, the group has reunited, and it has now been reported that the band is getting back together in the coming months.

‘There have been rumours swirling for months, but Geri has always been too busy and had other things on, preventing her from saying Yes,’ a source told The Sun.

‘Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas,’ the source added, referring to Simon Fuller, the band’s manage,r who is reportedly meeting with Geri later this week.

While the news is exciting, there is a major catch as Victoria is reportedly ‘90% out of the running’ and will not be returning.

‘Unfortunately, Victoria has pretty much ruled herself out, but there is still a world in which she could do some sort of avatar appearance or a special one-off thing.

‘She would always want to honour the girls’ history,’ the source said.

The group last reunited in 2019 and sold out 13 stadium tours in the UK and Ireland, reportedly pocketing around £4.4 million each.

The 2019 tour did not include Posh, but she did join the girls for a one-off performance at the London 2012 summer Olympics closing ceremony.

In 2007, the fivesome reunited for The Return of the Spice Girls Tour which consisted of 47 shows and ran from December 2007 to February 2008.

Scoring nine number ones between 1996 and 2000 (including six number ones in a row), the Spice Girls became one of the biggest-selling pop acts of all time.

In 1998, Geri (aka Ginger Spice) left the group citing exhaustion, and just two years after her departure the quintet announced that they were splitting.

In March this year, Geri told The Sunday Times that ‘there will be something’ coming.

‘We love each other. I love them, I care about them, and we want the best for each other. We shared something so monumental. We’ve always believed in each other, had trust in each other, which is beautiful.’

She then teased that ‘there will be something’ coming in the future from the girl group.

‘My hope is we come back together as a collective. It’s more respectful to come as one, so we’ll come as one,’ adding that the five of them do have a WhatsApp group chat.

Geri’s comments come hot on the heels of Mel C saying she’s ready for a Spice Girls reunion in the near future, adding: ‘We now are getting together because we know if we’re going to do anything, we have to start planning.’

‘We have to start making the plans right now and putting them into action. So fingers crossed. I think me and Mel B are probably going to be going in there all guns blazing.’
