Once the golden couple, Stacey Solomon has revealed that she sometimes falls out ‘for months’ with husband Joe Swash.
The couple have been married for three years and opened up their life in their £1,200,000 home, Pickle Cottage, to the world earlier this year.
Stacey, 36, admitted that while she and Joe are still in love, it’s not smooth sailing in the face of busy careers and five kids to raise.
She previously joked that she and her husband hadn’t been intimate for a year and has now called it a ‘pipe dream’ to not argue with Joe, 43.
‘How can you not fall out with your husband?’ she said in a new interview with Good Housekeeping.
‘We don’t have a house full of staff, although we do have help. My mum will put a wash on; Dad looks after the kids.
Stacey shared that the pair ‘argue all the time’ over chores and looking after the five children, with their youngest three all under six years old.
The older two – Stacey’s first son with ex-boyfriend Dean Cox, Zach, 17, and her son Leighton, 12, with ex-fiancé Aaron Barnham – still live at home too.
‘Everything’s a kerfuffle,’ the Loose Women star shared of their home life, but noted that she and Joe first got together because they aligned on a lot of values.
‘[Joe and I] got together because we like each other,’ she said. ‘We have the same morals and values, so even if we do have a couple of months of, “F***king hell, I can’t even look at you right now,” we’ll eventually remember why we got together in the first place.’
Stacey first met Joe after winning I’m A Celebrity in 2010, as he hosted the spin-off show, Unpacked.
By 2016, they were officially dating and by 2022 had tied the knot and become a fan favourite celeb pair.
Part of their charm over the years has been how incredibly honest they are, especially with Stacey spilling all on Loose Women.
In Stacey & Joe’s closing scenes, which were filmed over last year’s Christmas period, Joe said: ‘Maybe we could make another kid next year.’
‘I don’t think so,’ came Stacey’s rather speedy retort as she giggled: ‘I don’t think we had sex in 2024. We haven’t seen each other.’
Despite their openness, a source previously told The Sun that Stacey in particular was having regrets about signing up to do the show.
‘She’s not used to the backlash they are getting as everything she touches normally turns to gold,’ they said.
The couple recieved some negative comments about arguments over his poor time management and Stacey’s hyper organised habits.
The insider added: ‘She feels like she is coming across as bossy. He can’t manage anything without her, so she is forced to be the “grown-up”. It’s caused friction.’
Joe previously explained that it was ‘important’ for Stacey & Joe viewers to have an authentic portrayal of their relationship, even if it wasn’t all smiles.
He told Closer: ‘So many people represent their lives as being so perfect on Instagram. It’s our responsibility to show the real – the highs and the lows. It’s not all a bed of roses. Sometimes we argue.’
