While attending the April 20 New York premiere of “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” Tucci reunited with co-stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, marking nearly two decades since the original film’s release. For Tucci, the moment was not just about nostalgia. It also served as a reminder of how much life has changed.

Looking back, Tucci noted that Blunt was just 22 years old when they first worked together, which is the same age range his own children are now. The realization carried extra meaning given that Blunt is no longer just a former co-star. She is now part of his family.

According to Hello! Magazine, Tucci reflected on how Blunt, now 43, is the aunt to his children through his marriage to her sister, Felicity Blunt. The connection, which developed years after the original film, added another layer to the reunion and highlighted how relationships have evolved over time.

A Blended Family Built Over Time

Tucci’s journey to this point includes both personal loss and new beginnings. He was previously married to his late wife, Kate Tucci, from 1995 until her passing in 2009 from breast cancer. Together, they shared three children, twins Isabel and Nicolo, now 26, and daughter Camilla, 24. Tucci also helped raise Kate’s two children from a previous relationship.

After her passing, Tucci met Felicity Blunt at Emily Blunt’s 2010 wedding to John Krasinski. Their relationship grew from there, and the couple married in 2012. They now share two children together, son Matteo, born in 2015, and daughter Emilia, born in 2018.

Despite his high-profile career, Tucci has largely kept his family life private. However, he has occasionally spoken about the traditions that remain important to him. In a past interview with The Guardian, he shared that sitting down for meals together has always been a priority in his household, a practice he continues today with his blended family.

“It is vital that you have a meal together; nothing is more bonding or more healing,” Tucci said, per Hello! Magazine.

That strong sense of family has also extended into Tucci’s working relationships, especially with Blunt. While promoting “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” the two shared a glimpse into what their real-life dynamic looks like off set.

According to E! News, Tucci and Blunt brought their families along while filming in Italy, turning the experience into a group trip that blended work and personal time. Blunt was joined by Krasinski and their daughters, Hazel and Violet, while Tucci and Felicity had their children Matteo and Emilia with them.

“It was great, because we travel a lot together,” Tucci said, noting that their kids are close in age and have become close friends.

The setup was far from quiet. While the adults cooked and spent time together, the kids kept themselves entertained. “The kids are running around,” Tucci said, with Blunt adding, “We never see them. They’re sort of feral.” 

Their close bond also carried into their on-set dynamic, sometimes making it harder to stay focused. “We barely had any scenes together,” Blunt joked. “It was like they separated the naughty kids.”

Even so, the pair acknowledged how much their relationship has grown over the years. “We know each other. We are over related at this point,” Blunt added.

As Tucci reflects on returning to one of his most recognizable roles, it is clear that the experience now means more than revisiting a film. It also reflects how life has come full circle, from co-stars to family, and from early career moments to raising children of his own.
