Stereophonics have been forced to cancel their string of gigs after frontman Kelly Jones developed a mystery jaw injury.
The 00s Welsh rockers, known for huge tracks like 2005 chart topper Dakota and Have A Nice Day, were due to fly out for their global tour.
Kelly, 51, said he was ‘gutted’ to have to scrap the shows but had no choice as he was advised by doctors not to fly.
In an announcement on the band’s social media, he wrote: ‘I am gutted, saddened and disappointed to inform you all, that due to a displaced jaw joint (not caused by singing folks – just one of life’s tense dizzying mysteries!) the upcoming Australia and Dubai shows are cancelled.
‘Refunds will be given at point of purchase. Flying long distance is not medically advised.’
They were set to start shows in Australia next week, followed by Dubai, before returning to the UK.
Kelly reassured fans that the December gigs were ‘still set to go ahead as planned’, kicking off in Birmingham on December 3.
He continued: ‘I have cancelled no more than 4 shows in 30 years and I hope you can trust this decision was not taken lightly. I work hard to put on a great show every night, my prep starts in the morning through to showtime.
‘I respect you as audience members and I respect my crew and band brothers, the bed on which I lay, too much to travel with a doubt. Physio Rehabilitation and healing is the priority right now.’
Wrapping up his statement, the A Thousand Trees singer added there are 13 studio albums for fans to listen to ‘until next time’.
‘Love and good health to you all,’ he said before signing off, with fans wishing him a speedy recovery in the comments.
