Bruce Willis is one of the many people who have been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. Due to his health condition, the beloved actor maintains a relatively low profile, having now retired from acting. However, his daughter, Tallulah Willis, recently shared an update on Bruce in the form of pictures.
Tallulah posted the photos of Bruce to her official Instagram account on June 22nd. She said in the caption, “Sunday Funday at Grams! Grateful.” The post contains four images, with the first being of Tallulah and Bruce Willis.
The second picture features them hugging with family members seated at a table in the background. Tallulah’s fiancé, Justin Acee, can also be seen in one of the pictures with his arm around Bruce Willis. Notably, Tallulah Willis is Bruce Willis’s daughter with Demi Moore, whom he was married to for 13 years.
Bruce Willis Was First Diagnosed With Aphasia
It was first announced that Bruce Willis was living with aphasia in 2022. For context, this is a disorder that impacts a person’s ability to communicate. However, according to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, the Willis family announced in 2023 that the diagnosis had been upgraded to frontotemporal dementia.
Bruce Willis’ family has been open about the changes they noticed in the actor leading up to his diagnosis. According to Today, his wife, Emma, said in 2024, “As his language started changing, it (seemed like it) was just a part of a stutter, it was just Bruce. Never in a million years would I think it would be a form of dementia for someone so young.”
She also said, “I say that FTD whispers, it doesnât shout. Itâs hard for me to say, âThis is where Bruce ended, and this is where his disease started to take over.’”
More recently, the family has described Bruce’s health status as being “stable.” They have also shared pictures of the beloved actor from time to time as he continues to live his life away from the spotlight.
Bruce Recently Made a Public Appearance
As mentioned, Bruce Willis keeps a fairly low profile these days. However, the actor made a public appearance earlier this year to thank first responders working with the California Wildfires. His wife posted a video of the occasion on her Instagram.
She said in the caption, which also served as a Bruce Willis update, “Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a âthank you for your service.â Yesterday was no different.”
