<p id=”par-1_13″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rhobh-star-teddi-mellencamp-shares-glimpse-private-new-relationship-bravely-facing-cancer.html/”>Teddi Mellencamp</a> is safe following an attempted burglary at her home in Encino. </p>
<p id=”par-2_56″>The suspected burglars tried to enter <a href=”https://cheatsheet.com/tag/the-real-housewives-of-beverly-hills”><em>The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills</em></a><em> </em>star’s home on July 21 at about 10:15 p.m., according to <a href=”https://abc7.com/post/2-break-ins-reported-encino-residents-voice-concerns-killings-american-idol-exec-husband/17240793/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>ABC7 Eyewitness News</a>. People were inside at the time, but when officers arrived, the burglars had already fled in a black BMW. Police are looking for two men in hooded sweatshirts, they said. </p>

<p id=”par-3_31″><a href=”https://www.tmz.com/2025/07/22/teddi-mellencamp-home-attempted-burglary-los-angeles/”>TMZ</a> reports that both Mellencamp and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rhobh-teddi-mellencamp-edwin-arroyave-divorce.html/”>her husband, Edwin Arroyaye</a>, were home when the incident occurred. In a joint statement on Instagram, they said they were “grateful that everyone was unharmed.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_32″>“While we are shaken, we are fortunate to have the latest in home security systems which scared off the intruders,” she shared on her <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/teddimellencamp/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a> Story. “Authorities were alerted and swiftly responded.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_28″>“We appreciate everyone’s heightened concern in light of recent criminal activities in the area, but we are safe,” Mellencamp added, referring to a recent double homicide in Encino. </p>
<p id=”par-6_27″>Arroyaye is the founder and CEO of Skyline Security. On his <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DMavtKDpNgq/?hl=en&img_index=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a>, he shared a video of the would-be burglars hopping a gate and entering the property. </p>
<p id=”par-7_38″>“The idea for Skyline Security came from the trauma of having a gun held to my head at 18,” he captioned the post. “The ability to save lives and protect families is the genesis of what I do.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_63″>The attempted burglary at the former Bravo star’s home comes just days after a former music supervisor for <em>American Idol</em> and her husband were found dead inside their Encino home. The Los Angeles Police Department has said that Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca were killed in a confrontation with a man who entered their home through an unlocked door while they were away. </p>
<p id=”par-9_12″>The murders have put many members of the Encino community on edge. </p>
<p id=”par-10_23″>“The crime is out of control,” resident Deborah Palace told ABC7. “You don’t even feel safe going to sleep in your own home.”</p>
<p id=”par-11_69″>Mellencamp is not the first <em>RHOBH </em>star to have her home targeted by thieves. In 2017, burglars broke into <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rhobh-kyle-richards-still-hasnt-apologized-to-psychic-for-involving-her-in-ring-theft-debacle.html/”>Kyle Richards</a>’ Encino home while her family was away on vacation. They stole more than $1 million worth of purses, jewelry, and other items. In 2021, Dorit Kemsley – who also lived in Encino – was the victim of a home invasion while at home with her two young children. </p>
