Hanging in there in tenth position this week is this tense crime drama, which has been far from absent in the charts since it made the leap to Netflix from Amazon Prime Video. Canadian actress Stana Katic takes the leads as Special Agent Emily Byrne, who was officially declared dead by the FBI after going missing in Boston. When she is found, alive, after six years in captivity with no memory of her past, she sets out to reclaim her life. (Picture: Amazon/Everett/Shutterstock)

Stranger Things Season 2
The top 10 gets steadily stranger with the second series of the show spending another week in the countdown. Season two picks up in Hawkins, Indiana, in 1984 – one year after the events around the disappearance of Will Byers – as the town once again comes under threat from the Upside Down. Into the top five with yet another showing for Stranger Things. This one takes place in 1986, eight months after the events of season three, and takes the action to California and the Soviet Union. But, of course, the Upside Down rears its head back in Hawkins as the town is plagued by a string of mysterious teenage murders. As well as keeping us all gripped and racking up viewers by the ton, this is also the series that sent Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill soaring to number one, decades after it was first released. 4. The Beast In Me – 7,800,000 views

It managed a single week in the top spot, but while The Beast In Me has dropped down to fourth it still pulled in nearly eight million viewers this past week – which is far from beastly. Claire Danes stars in the thriller as Aggie Wiggs, an author who has retreated from public life and is grappling with writer’s block following the death of her young son. Until one day, she receives unlikely inspiration for her next novel: Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), the son of a real estate magnate, has moved in next door with his second wife. The real question is: did he murder his first? (Picture: Netflix)

Oh hello, is that Stranger Things by any chance? Oh yes it is. Here’s your chance to see where the phenomenon began, as we head back to the early 80s and discover the town of Hawkins, Indiana, and the Upside Down, for the first time. As for the plot, it sees Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) vanish while cycling home and his friends, with a little help from the mysterious Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), attempting to crack the mystery behind his disappearance. 2. Kevin Hart: Acting My Age – 9,200,000 views

In most weeks the amount of views racked up by comedian Kevin Hart for this comedy special would be enough to see him at number one. This is not most weeks, obviously, but it’s still nabbed a decent share of the audience. The special sees Hart tackling the topic of advancing years, sharing his thoughts on such middle-age issues as family dynamics, intimacy pills and the perils of unexpected injuries. 1. Stranger Things: Season 5 – 59,600,000 views

Stranger Things: Season 5
So here it is. The fifth season of Stranger Things seeing off all competition as it smashes straight into the charts at number one. We all knew it was going to but the number of viewers the Stranger Things swansong has picked up over the past week is extraordinary, with nearly 60 million of you tuning in to see how things end for Hawkins and the Upside Down. Reviews have been stellar, with Metro calling it a ‘masterpiece’. And with just four episodes released so far – with three more landing on Christmas Day and the feature-length, 125 minute finale, arriving on New Year’s Day – we reckon the charts will be strange for quite some time.
