The sequel to The Batman starring Robert Pattinson has been hit with a production delay.
Warner Bros. and DC Studios have announced on Monday that production on The Batman Part II has been paused after director Matt Reeves was forced to step away for personal reasons.
‘Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter,’ DC Studios said in a statement.
‘Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.’
The sequel to the 2022 blockbuster, which earned more than $772 million at the box office upon its release, features the likes of Pattinson with Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell in a star-studded cast.
This latest delay, which was reported by Deadline, also comes after the film was already postponed twice, with the sequel originally set for release on October 3, 2025.

This date was then pushed back to October 1, 2027, after the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strike.
Before the pause, the movie was set to premiere on February 18, 2028.
However, it is now unclear whether this release date will be impacted again.
The sequel, which began filming in June earlier this year, is primarily being filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK alongside exterior location shoots in London and Glasgow.
Alongside Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright will reprise his role as police commissioner James Gordon with Jayme Lawson and Gil Perez-Abraham also returning as Mayor Bella Reál and Officer Martinez respectively.
Metro has contacted Warner Bros and DC Studios for comment.
