George Clooney didn’t hold back during his appearance on the latest episode of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast.
The actor, who is promoting his new movie “Jay Kelly” was asked by the brothers if the story of him pretending to be former President Bill Clinton, where he sent letters to other celebrities, was true.
“So, no â Jimmy Kimmel gave me a stack of stationery with a presidential seal and Bill Clinton’s name on it,” Clooney explained. “And I would send notes to all these actors from Bill Clinton, I’d sign it â and I’d find a movie that wasn’t a great film and ‘I’d write, ‘I loved you in this film.’”
“I’d write these notes, and I’d send them. I sent [them] to, like, 30 different actors. I guarantee you some of them are framed in some of their homes. Guaranteed,” Clooney added.
George Clooney Also Pretended To Be Another Famous Actor
Clooney didn’t stop there, also revealing that the former President’s stationery wasn’t the only one that was given to him by Kimmel.
The late-night host also gave him some fake stationery that appeared to be from actor Brad Pitt.
“Somebody sent me this book of dialects on CDs, where you could do an Irish accent or you could do a French accent,” Clooney detailed on the podcast. “There’s a guy who teaches [accents]. And I had this big book. I don’t know why I had it, somebody sent it to me.”
“And so I take a note with Brad Pitt’s [signature] and I send it to Meryl Streep. And I go, ‘Dear Meryl, from Brad â this guy helped me in my accent in the movie Troy, and I thought maybe you could use it,’ ” he continued. “And I sent her this book of accents from Brad Pitt.”
However, Clooney did eventually reveal the truth to Streep.
“Like, four years later, I see her and I tell this story, and she’s like ‘Oh my God, I was wondering why the f— he’s sending me [this book],” he recalled. “It’s so awful. We’ve done a lot of terrible things to each other. He’s done terrible things to me, man, so it all comes out.”Â
Richard Kind Reveals He Was Stopped By TSA Due To One of George Clooney’s Pranks
In June, actor Richard Kind appeared on the Still Here Hollywood podcast and told a hilarious story that involved one of Clooney’s infamous pranks.
“One night, years ago, I have to go to Vegas for some publicity. I don’t know when it was,” Kind explained. “There’s a car coming to pick me up, and I used to stay at George’s house. It’s before Amal and before he had the kids.”
“I’m staying at his place and I have my suitcase downstairs, and waiting for the car to come. George, who had been in the kitchen or something like that, sits down at the foot of the stairs, and we’re just chatting. We’re gabbing. And I say, ‘Oh, I forgot something,’ and I go upstairs to get something,” he continued. “I come back downstairs, and then the car comes, and the guy who’s driving the car takes the bag, and he puts it into the trunk, and I get driven to Burbank Airport.”
But once he got to the airport, things took a turn.
“I go through the TSA line, and they pull me aside and they go, ‘Sir, could you come here, please?,’” Kind recalled.
It turns out, Clooney put an Oscar and a SAG award in his bag, which are both heavy.
