Cast of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Some of the key cast involved in “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” have reunited, sharing a photograph of them together online. The 1989 release, written by John Hughes and directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, is widely regarded as a classic Christmas movie and a staple of the holiday season.

Juliette Lewis Shares Reunion Picture

Juliette Lewis posted the image on Instagram to her personal account, which features Chevy Chase sitting on a chair, while Beverly D’Angelo, Randy Quaid, and Lewis all stand around him posing for the camera. It isn’t clear from the post when the photograph was taken.

She accompanied the image with a holiday message, calling the rest of the cast her family. She said, “Merry Christmas from the Griswolds! Love my movie family.”

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” marked the final time that Hughes worked on a “National Lampoon” project and tells the story of Chase’s character Clark Griswold as his attempts to have a normal family Christmas keep going awry. Chase, Quaid, and D’Angelo reprised their roles from previous movies, while Lewis replaced Dana Barron and Dana Hill in the role of the Griswold’s daughter Audrey.

Some of the Cast Has Previously Teamed Up For Other Christmas Movies

This is not the first time that the cast of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” have reunited. Both Chase and Quaid worked together on the 2024 film “The Christmas Letter.” They were joined by Hallmark star Kristoffer Polaha alongside Brian Doyle-Murray.

Polaha had previously shared photographs of him attending a convention in New York City, where he grabbed photographs with both CHase and Quaid.

“Last week was a whirlwind,” he exclaimed. “New York City was amazing and seeing all your shining faces was truly a joy for me. I love meeting you, hearing your stories, hugging your necks, and capturing a moment with you. Even I wanted my picture taken with a few actors whose work has impacted my life. I’ll see you next year!”

Earlier this year it was also revealed that a new documentary about Chevy Chase is on the way and should release in 2026. “I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not” is directed by Marina Zenovich and is set to arrive on Sky Documentaries next year. Zenovich has previously won awards for the documentaries “Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic” and “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind.”

Howard T. Owens, co-CEO of Propagate Content, released a statement about the film. He said, “We’re thrilled to have Sky join the exceptional team behind this definitive portrait of Chevy Chase.”

Owens continued, “Chevy is a complicated comedy legend, and Marina’s unflinching approach captures that in a way only she can. Sky’s commitment to bold, truth-driven storytelling makes them the ideal partner to help bring this story to audiences worldwide.”
