FOX has a new reality TV competition series in the works, and itâs called âThe Snake.â The ominous name is a suggestion for what is to come, as contestants try to work out what each otherâs intentions are, and how best to manipulate them. It also involves competing in various challenges to advance in the competition and be in with a chance to win the $100,000 grand prize.
The concept is interesting, but what else do we know about the show? And who are the contestants?
Where and When To Watch âThe Snake’
âThe Snakeâ premieres Tuesday, June 10, at 9 p.m. ET and will air on Fox. It can also be streamed the next day on Hulu. Comedian Jim Jefferies will host the competition series.
âââIâm thrilled to be hosting ‘The Snake,’ a show about making friends and faking friends,â Jefferies said of his inclusion in the show, Soap Central reports. âIâve been training for this job my whole life. Growing up in Australia, and now living in Hollywood, Iâve been around plenty of snakes.â
âThe Snakeâ features 15 contestants from all different professions and backgrounds, but the one thing they have in common? Their ability to manipulate. Pictures of the contestants were shared on the RealityTVFan Instagram page on May 15, and the caption teased what to expect. â15 master manipulators compete to become The Snake who will control The Saving Ceremony, a chain reaction elimination that is about who will save certain contestants. #TheSnake #TheSnakeOnFox,â the caption reads.
The competition presents an intriguing blend of manipulation, survival, and strategy. The winner from each challenge becomes The Snake, and they are safe from elimination in that round. They also get to choose one other player to save.
Who Will Be Competing on âThe Snakeâ?
Entertainment Weekly reports that the competitors are: makeup artist Frank Lavecchia from Charlotte, North Carolina, boxer Brett Covalt from Tampa, Florida, police officer Kailee Fessock from Hollywood, Florida, bull rider Cody Brewer from Cookeville, Tennessee, and tech manager Kethryn Cavender from New York.
Joining these contestants are HR director Jordan DeJesse from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, bounty hunter Mena Samara from Moore, Oklahoma, NFL cheerleader MacLaine Funsch from Carmel, Indiana, non-profit director Jack Micco from Austin, Texas, and OnlyFans content creator Alyssa Grassie from Miami, Florida.
Completing the list are poker player Devonte Kavanaugh from Los Angeles, California, detective Derek North from Naperville, Illinois, lawyer Amanda Short from Richmond, Virginia, ex-con Bryan Sobolewski from Lewisville, Texas, and pastor Jacob Buchholz from Upland, California.
In a sneak peek of what is to come, viewers will see Kethryn put on the waterworks over a decision. “I think I deserve an Oscar for that performance,â she later confesses to the cameras. We also hear pastor Jacob very enthusiastically declare that he is âopenâ to backstabbing people. âAs much as I want to feel safe with these people, I donât,â Jack shares.
