Tia and Tamera Mowry Used To Babysit Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen–Here’s the Story

Tia Mowry is taking fans on a nostalgic trip back to the early ’90s when she and her twin sister, Tamera Mowry-Housley, used to babysit Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on the set of “Full House”, according to reports.

At the time, their younger brother Tahj Mowry had a recurring role on the show as Michelle Tanner’s best friend, Teddy. While tagging along to support him, the Mowry twins—then teenagers themselves—often spent time entertaining the youngest stars of the series between takes.

“They had us babysit Mary-Kate and Ashley on set,” Tia wrote in an Instagram post. “The crew would have us play with [them] between takes. Everyone thought it was the cutest thing—twin girls watching over twin girls.”

In the same post, Tia reflected on the early challenges she and Tamera faced on their road to success. “A lot of people think our journey to Sister, Sister was easy… but trust me, it was far from it,” she wrote. “As kids, we faced a lot of heartache and uncertainty. But every challenge taught me something. It shaped my faith, my resilience, and prepared me for everything that came after. I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Fans quickly filled her comments with love and appreciation. “All of us 90s babies who loved you then love you even more now ❤️,” one user wrote. Earlier this month, Tia also opened up during a Q&A on Instagram Stories about the pros and cons of growing up in the spotlight.

The “Sister, Sister” and “Twitches” alum shared that her early start in Hollywood taught her responsibility at a young age. “I already knew work ethic and discipline before even entering college,” she said. But she didn’t sugarcoat the tougher parts—admitting that life as a child actor also meant missing out on normal moments like dating or having a traditional teenage experience.

Despite those challenges, Tia credited her support system—especially her sister Tamera and their parents—for helping her stay grounded. She also reflected on what she loves most about the industry: the collaborative magic behind the scenes.

“I love how one small idea turns into something so much bigger through collaboration,” Tia shared in an Instagram Q&A, praising the teamwork from directors to wardrobe—and adding with humor, “getting dressed up is fun too!”

Tia isn’t the only one making headlines this week. Her twin sister Tamera Mowry-Housley is stepping into the spotlight as the new host of “Baked With Love: Holiday”, a festive family baking competition series from Hallmark, according to Deadline.

The show will feature ten teams of family duos competing to create holiday-themed desserts. Tamera, who announced the news in an Instagram post, shared how meaningful the project is to her.

“I’m SO excited to announce that I’ll be a host on Baked With Love: Holiday alongside @haughser and @vaughn!” she wrote. “You know I LOVE baking and Christmas, so this one was extra special. Can’t wait for you all to see it!”
