<p id=”par-1_16″>Todd Chrisley might be out of federal prison, but his legal problems aren’t fully behind him. </p>
<p id=”par-2_67″>In 2024, the former <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/chrisley-knows-best-star-julie-chrisley-living-nightmare-conditions-prison-infested-snakes-daughter-claims.html/”><em>Chrisley Knows Best </em>star</a> was ordered to pay $755,000 in a defamation lawsuit filed against him by an employee of the Georgia Department of Revenue. Now, the woman, Amy Doherty-Heinze, is coming after Chrisley for the money she says she she is still owed. She recently filed documents in Tennessee, where she believes Chrisley currently lives, in an attempt to collect, <a href=”https://www.tmz.com/2026/04/21/todd-chrisley-creditor-wants-more-money-after-online-attack/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>TMZ</a> reports. </p>
<p id=”par-3_92″>The judgment stems from comments Chrisley made in 2020 during the run-up to his and his wife Julie Chrisley’s trial on tax evasion charges. The reality TV personality accused Doherty-Heinze of “a multitude of crimes and wrongdoing,” she said in her lawsuit, according to the <a href=”https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2024-04-09/todd-chrisley-amy-doherty-heinze-defamation-lawsuit-75500-damages” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Los Angeles Times</a>. Chrisley allegedly “repeated false accusations that, among other things, [Doherty-Heinze] engaged in various criminal misconduct in her post as an investigator for the Georgia Department of Revenue’s Office of Special Investigations.” In reality, Doherty-Heinze did not play a significant role in investigating the Chrisleys.</p>
<p id=”par-4_44″>Chrisley made the defamatory comments on his podcast, <em>Chrisley Confessions, </em>as well as on Instagram. Among other things, he accused Doherty-Heinze of using taxpayer money for a trip to Disney World and claimed she got her job through “nefarious” means, per the <a href=”https://web.archive.org/web/20210719165453/https://www.ajc.com/life/radiotvtalk-blog/reality-star-todd-chrisley-sued-for-libel-by-former-georgia-tax-department-employee/PYEPO4SWCJEIBAQG2JPEWRSQ2U/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Atlanta Journal-Constitution</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-5_32″>Chrisley has not commented on the case. Last year, after receiving a pardon from Donald Trump, he and his family returned to TV in the Lifetime series <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/the-chrisleys-back-to-reality-will-air-in-its-entirety-in-september-premiere-date-details-revealed.html/”><em>The Chrisleys: Back to Reality</em></a><em>. </em></p>
