Tom Holland and Zendaya have tied the knot for the second time in a lavish countryside ceremony – and they went to extreme lengths to prevent leaks.
He and the Euphoria actress, who met on set of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, got engaged in December 2024, but it wasn’t until June this year that they finally confirmed they were, indeed, married.
Amid swirling rumours, Tom eventually started referring to Zendaya as ‘my wife’ in interviews, but details of their nuptials remain a closely guarded secret.
This week, the A-list lovebirds hosted another round of celebrations, surrounded by their nearest and dearest at Surrey’s Beaverbrook Hotel, 11 miles from Kingston-upon-Thames, South West London, which is Tom’s hometown.
Tom, 30, and Zendaya, 29, rented out the entire Victorian estate, The Sun reports, for a private £500,000 vow exchange.
The venue stretches across 370 acres, boasts a five-star hotel rating, and has hosted numerous powerful figures over time, including Winston Churchill.
However, guests staying in the 56 rooms and suites or using the on-site Japanese restaurant will only have their memories to think back on, as the newlyweds banned phones from their big day.
‘Tom and Zendaya went to great lengths to stop any information or pictures getting out, so neither guests nor staff were allowed their mobiles,’ said a source.
This seems to have become a theme with celebrity weddings, as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce also sealed away guests’ phones when they wed at MSG.
Meanwhile, the likes of Dua Lipa and Callum Turner appear to have started the trend of multiple ceremonies earlier this year, having legally married at a London town hall before a three-day blowout in Palermo.
In March, Zendaya’s renowned stylist, Law Roach, sent fans into a frenzy when he was quizzed on the movie stars getting hitched.
While on a red carpet, he claimed: ‘The wedding has already happened. You missed it.’
Then, at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere, he was asked whether the pair would have a second wedding.
‘I don’t think so. I think that people should congratulate them,’ said Law, perhaps in an attempt to throw people off the scent.
‘It’s two young, beautiful, successful people that are in love, and they had a private wedding, and they got away with it.’
Of course, it didn’t take long for legitimate-looking AI-generated images to begin swarming social media, convincing millions that they knew what Zendaya’s dress looked like (Law has since insisted that the actual gown was ‘better than that’).
The fake pics made so much noise, in fact, that almost two months ago, Tom commented on them while speaking to Esquire UK.
He was asked whether he felt a need to talk to his family members about the AI snaps in case they took offence at being left out.
‘No, because they were all there… That’s all you’ll get on that,’ he replied, refusing to divulge anything further.
While he remained tight-lipped on the ins and outs of the wedding itself, Tom did add that he’s now the ‘happiest I’ve ever been’.
Then, while on the Dish podcast in July to promote Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, he was asked: ‘Which person would you like a holiday in Greece with?’
Tom replied: ‘I think probably my wife would be pretty good.
‘It would be a bit strange if I went, “Sorry, babe, I’m gonna take Matt [Damon, co-star] actually.’
In contrast, Zendaya has been a bit more reserved when commenting on their romance lately.
She told the New York Times’ Modern Love podcast in April: ‘I just feel like, for me, there is a level of parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand.
‘I’m aware that I’m a public person and so is he, and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that, and I don’t want to dismiss that like, “Stay out of my business” or whatever.’
She added: ‘In a lot of ways, I’m also a very private person, and I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well.’
While conscious of not ‘hiding from the world’, they still want to ‘preserve things’ to ‘maintain that joy’.
‘I hear it,’ she noted of the interest in their love lives. ‘But I also [have] my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I’m willing to share, you know?
‘I just try to find the balance in the middle there.’
Zendaya was first confirmed to be dating Tom in 2021 when paparazzi photos captured them kissing. Three years later, she arrived at the Golden Globes wearing a new sparkler on her ring finger, with sources verifying their engagement.
