Tony + Ziva = Trouble; CBS Drops First Look at Their Next Chapter

It’s official: the power couple of “NCIS” is back and better than ever. CBS Studios recently dropped the first photos (seen below) from “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” and it’s exactly what longtime fans have been begging for. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo return as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, picking up after years of mystery, fan theories, and the classic “are they or aren’t they” energy.

A Long-Awaited Reunion

This series will pick up years after we last saw these characters together and take us all on what is sure to be a whirlwind adventure.

“Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so that they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.”

Series Synopsis (per Entertainment Weekly) 

It seems this story is set up to blend action, romance, and international intrigue. Translation: it’s going to be chaotic, messy, emotional, and probably a little flirty; and we’re absolutely not ready.

Behind-the-Scenes Teasers (With a Very Random Turtle)

Filming wrapped earlier this year in Budapest, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and the cast is stacked with fresh faces including Isla Gie as Tali and supporting players like Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Nassima Benchicou, Julian Ovenden, Terence Maynard, Lara Rossi, and James D’Arcy.

And because Michael Weatherly can’t resist trolling his fanbase (respect), he’s been teasing the show’s rollout with cryptic posts, like one which features a slow-moving turtle clip captioned, “Sometimes TV takes a little bit of time…” Sir, please. We’re already spiraling. Fans even took to the post to comment things like, “I’m waiting patiently. Get it done your way, the right way! It will be worth the wait!” 

Another of Weatherly’s posts features himself dressed in an “NCIS: Tony & Ziva” branded t-shirt and the text “It’s getting closerrrrr….” which also has fans commenting, “Can’t wait to see this tv show” and “Jesus Christ…. Just opened Instagram and your post popped up…. Happy for being surprised❤️❤️❤️”

Also worth noting: the dynamic duo launched a podcast called “Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch,” where they relive classic episodes and share behind-the-scenes chaos. It’s giving pre-show appetizer energy and we’re eating it up.

“NCIS: Tony & Ziva” has no premiere date just yet, but we do know the series is set to air exclusively on Paramount+ in autumn of 2025. And if these first-look images are anything to go by, it’s gonna be emotional, explosive, and very Tiva-core. It’s about time these two got their spotlight.
