Tracee Ellis Ross Makes Empowering Comment About Aging
This is not the first time that Ross has done or said something empowering, and she has been an inspiration to many because of her approach to aging. She is all about embracing it and being unapologetically herself.
âI donât understand the obsession with antiaging. I think it is an honor to age, and so many people shy away from it and donât want to tell their age,â she told Glamour in November 2022. âI love getting older. I look at women who are steps ahead of me and see so much beauty and wisdom in them. This obsession with youth that we have in our world is confusing to me because I wouldnât go back if you paid me.â
She echoed the comments about aging in an interview with NPR in April 2023. “Well, I personally have always loved getting older, like genuinely, I think it’s an honor to get older. Not everybody gets to get older, and I’m not sure why we don’t look at it that way,â she said.
She continued, “I know we are obsessed with youth. I would not go back if you paid me. Sure, my skin was tighter. Sure, my legs held muscle in a different way. But, I am so much more comfortable in my skin.”
