Victoria Beckham has talked about her son Brooklyn Beckham for the first time since their family rift was revealed.

There have been rumours of fallouts ever since Brooklyn Beckham, 26, married Nicola Peltz, 30, three years ago, and speculation has mounted over the past few months after the eldest Beckham child was absent from David’s 50th birthday bash.

David and Victoria, 51, were also nowhere to be seen at Brooklyn’s vow renewal ceremony in August, and now the release of Victoria’s new documentary has sparked even more questions.

The family has largely maintained a tight-lipped on mutterings of an ongoing feud, despite cryptic social media posts from the children.

Now, in a podcast episode of Call Her Daddy, Victoria has made a rare comment about Brooklyn.

What has Victoria Beckham said about Brooklyn?

In the podcast, host Alex Cooper showed Victoria photos from her life and asked for her perspective on some iconic moments, one of which was a snap from her famously purple wedding day.

‘Aw, look at baby Brooklyn,’ Victoria said, when shown a photo from their wedding day of her holding Brooklyn as a baby alongside David.

Victoria then revealed she and David recently donned their wedding outfits decades on. While Victoria said her dress didn’t look ‘too bad’, she joked David resembled purple ‘dancing man emoji’.

Talking about her large family again, when questioned by Alex about how she’s navigated stepping back to ‘allow her children to make their own decisions,’ Victoria reflected: ‘I mean, we’re such a close family.

‘You know, communication is key and we always let them know that anything they want to talk about, this is a safe forum. That’s really important. But they’ve got to go on their on their journeys themselves.’

Pressed on how she and David navigate changing dynamics, Victoria maintained: ‘Again, it’s just about communicating. We’ve always been that way with the kids. And I’m excited for them, they’re all very different. They all like to do different things.’

On the subject of the nepo baby debate, as Cruz Beckham launches his music career, Victoria called for people to ‘just give the kids a chance’.

She complimented her youngest son for ‘mastering his craft’ and working hard for the big moment, with two singles dropping on Friday October 24.

The fashion designer also reflected on her years in The Spice Girls with Geri Halliwell-Horner, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, and Emma Bunton, touching on the moment Geri left the band.

‘She just left,’ Victoria said of Geri’s shock 1998 departure. ‘We did not have any idea until she just didn’t turn up.’

However, almost three decades on there appears to be no bad blood.

‘I was on the phone to Geri this morning about something completely different and we laughed about it this morning. We can laugh about it now but at the time it was like, “Okay…”,’ Victoria recalled.

While admitting that individually the five-piece ‘weren’t great’ as popstars, Victoria said that together they were ‘something’.

Having opened up about her eating disorder in the recent self-titled three-part Netflix documentary, Victoria further reflected on her relationship with food.

‘When you have an eating disorder it makes you miserable, it’s sad, it’s lonely, it’s all consuming. I was present for many years, but not truly present,’ she confessed.

Going back to a time when she, a globally recognised popstar, and David were dating – when he was playing for Manchester United before finding serious fame – Victoria reflected how they would meet up in car parks in order to keep their blossoming romance under wraps from the public.

‘We would spend hours talking and getting to know each other. It was really cute,’ Victoria remembered, clarifying there was nothing ‘seedy’ about the meet ups.

While the Spice Girl talked about being bullied at school in her new Netflix documentary, she went into more detail in the rare interview.

‘I remember standing in the playground and literally standing on my own and kids just picking up Coke cans from puddles and throwing them at me,’ she said. ‘I was physically and mentally really bullied at school.’

Now though, as fans recognised in the comments section of the YouTube interview, Victoria seems more herself than ever.

‘It’s taken me 51 years to realise that, however many times people have told me I’m not, I’m good enough,’ she said.
