A camera crew was caught chatting about Carol Vorderman’s butt and love life during an embarrassing live broadcast.

The crew were filming a practice session between Alex Eala and Iga Swiatek at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart when they made the awkward mistake.

As Alex and Iga knocked the ball back and forth, three unidentified men began to chat about Carol, 65 and how young she looks.

‘I saw something recently, Carol Vorderman has just like come out and been like,’ one man then said.

‘She’s done it right. Because she got her butt done and stuff.’

Confused, another man then asks what she’s come out with, to which the first replies: She’s come out and says that she’s in like an open relationship with five or six guys.’

‘With five or six guys?’ another questioned, as the third says,’ Good girl. Wow.’

The conversation is then brought to an end by someone saying, ‘That’s quite enough.

What the men didn’t realise was that their conversation was being broadcast to those watching on the official tournament website.

According to Wales Online, all three men are ‘mortified’ by their conversation and are not associated with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).

Carol has been very open about the fact that she once had five non-monogamous relationships on the go at the same time.

Most awkward hot mic gaffes

  • French President Jacques Chirac admits he doesn’t like British food: In 2005, the then-French president upset a lot of people when he was caught on mic saying: ‘You can’t trust people who cook as badly as [The British]. After Finland, it’s the country with the worst food.’
  • Prince Charles and Nicholas Witchell: In 2005, Prince Charles was being interviewed by the BBC’s royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell when he was overheard muttering: ‘Bloody people. I can’t bear that man. He is so awful, he really is.’
  • Gordon Brown and the ‘bigoted woman’: In 2010 Grodon Brown was confronted by a woman about immigration. After shuffling away Brown, not realising he was still wearing a mic, called the encounter a ‘disaster’, adding ‘she’s just a sort of bigoted woman.’

During an interview on This Morning in 2023, she told the hosts that she was no longer interested in ‘finding the one’ but was instead spending time with ‘five special friends’.

‘I have ignored the looking for one person, and I have a number of what I’ve called “special friends”,’ she explained.

‘They don’t know each other, but they know about it. It’s a very honest relationship.

‘I’ve been married, very happily married, and then suddenly I wasn’t, and we had two lovely children and all of that. But I don’t want to be in a relationship because I love my life. And I love my mates, and you know, my son and I live together, and I don’t have time for it.’

Carol has always kept the identity of her five beaus a secret, only revealing that she’d been friends with one for 11 years and another for seven.

She told You Magazine that she likes her non-monogamous life as it gives her a sense of freedom.

Last year, she joked to Alan Carr that she was now down to just three ‘special friends’.

‘It’s down to three,’ she laughed. ‘Times are hard.’
