Will Ferrell has been busy at work filming his new Netflix golf comedy.
However, the comedian will have to take it easy for a little while after he suffered a minor injury, TMZ reports, adding that “it wasn’t serious,” but it will be “enough to keep him from filming scenes scheduled this week at the Bicycle Casino just outside Los Angeles.”
The outlet adds that it’s not clear how Ferrell got injured, but “the issue made it impossible for him to shoot the planned material safely or comfortably this week.” Because of that, “producers have temporarily rearranged the schedule while he recovers.”
But the good news is that it’s a minor injury that will have him back on set soon.
More About Will Ferrell’s Golf Comedy Series
Earlier this year, Netflix announced that Ferrell would be joined by his former “Saturday Night Live” castmate, Molly Shannon, in a new comedy series. Luke Wilson, who is known for his role “No Good Deed” along with “Legally Blonde,” is also on the cast and will play another gold professional who has defeated Ferrell’s character twice in the tour championship.
Comedian Chris Parnell, who also is a “Saturday Night Live” alum, will play Anton, who is a PGA Tour board member, while Katelyn Tarver will portray a social media influencer named Natalie. Oh, and not to mention, Natalie’s fiancé is Lance, played by comedian Jimmy Tatro.
David Hornsby will play Shannon’s character, Molly’s partner, portraying a rich Southern man.
The series will consist of 10 episodes and the name has yet to be released.
A Part of Will Ferrell’s Iconic Role Set to Catch High Price at Auction
The iconic Elf suit that Ferrell wore in the 2003 hit movie “Elf” will be auctioned off in London this December, CBS News reports.
The outlet says bidding will begin at 50,000 pounds ($65,000), but the expectation is that it will reach 200,000 pounds ($261,000). Whoever takes the suit home will also get the iconic hat and tunic.
Last December, Ferrell had everyone talking when he somewhat reprised his role, attending a hockey game between the Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers dressed as Buddy the Elf. Ferrell was spotted sitting next to his wife, Viveca Paulin at the game.
And during an appearance on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce shortly after, he joked about why he did it.
“I get these weird ideas every now and then,” Ferrell explained. “I told my wife â because we we we’re season tickets holders to the L.A. Kings we have the nice the seats right on the glass which are amazing â I said, ‘Gosh, over the break you know I it’d be funny if I just got like a Buddy the Elf costume and didn’t shave for like a week.”
