Zayn Malik has hit back after being accused of swearing at fans, claiming it was ‘stalkers’ he told to ‘get the f**k out the way’.

The former One Direction star, 33, was forced to barge through an unyielding crowd as he left a hotel, heading for his waiting car.

He’s only just been back in the public eye after a mystery hospitalisation, resulting in him cancelling a string of concerts so he could recover.

A video showed Zayn telling someone to ‘get the f**k out of my way’ as he and a security guard attempted to open the car door against the masses pushing forward.

After he gets in, a woman working with Zayn has to ask again for the crowd to move so she is also able to get in the car.

It was reported that he was swearing at fans but the Pillowtalk singer has responded to the growing backlash to set the record straight.

‘Let’s get the facts straight – the fans were and always are respectful and amazing,’ he wrote in the comments of TMZ’s video.

Zayn explained: ‘The issue was the multiple fully grown men who were blocking the doors of the hotel and the car for 10 minutes, not letting us or security out.’

The footage shared by TMZ showed a few women on the other side of the door, with one person reaching their camera up to get a good video of him.

‘They are not fans,’ he continued, ‘They are stalkers that show up wherever someone they want to meet is and do the same thing to everyone to try and to get content.

‘It is not safe and not okay and they ruin it for the real fans.’

In the comments, fans supported Zayn setting boundaries and asked ‘what else was he meant to do?’ as his path was blocked.

‘He did nothing wrong,’ fan Renay Shields wrote as DJ Ambrose quipped: ‘How else can he open the door?’

The incident comes after another altercation in which a woman threw plastic cups at the singer after a Q&A in Kingston’s Banquet Records.

He was exiting the stage when an unnamed woman in the balcony lobbed two cups at him, forcing him to duck, as well as reportedly spitting at the star.

The woman was reportedly removed from the venue by security, with Banquet telling Metro she had ‘behaved appallingly’.

‘Things may or may not escalate, but not something I can provide further comment on,’ the spokesperson continued.

A message from Zayn: ??To my fans - Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always- been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering. Heartbroken that I can?t see you all this week, I wouldn?t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding. Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends! Big big love xx z"

They added: ‘In all of our dealings with Zayn, he’s been polite and respectful, but unfortunately, sometimes events don’t run as planned. Most people, while understandably frustrated, will remember that as well as a household name artist, he’s also a human, and I hope people continue to respect that.’

Despite his health worries, Zayn is now back touring and performed two nights at the O2 Arena in London over the weekend.

‘Night 1 LONDON 02!!! Big thanks to everyone that came out and turned up! That was epic ! ❤️,’ he wrote on Instagram.

He’s set to continue his tour, celebrating new album Konnakol, in South America next month.
