A man was fatally shot in South Gate on Saturday morning, Jan. 3.
The shooting on the 5500 block of Leeds Street was reported around 5:30 a.m. But authorities have released few details.
Firefighters pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office has not yet identified the man.
South Gate police referred questions about the shooting to the LA County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau which is helping the department with the investigation. Homicide detectives couldn’t be reached for comment on Saturday afternoon.
