Two people were shot, one fatally, in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood early Saturday, police said.
A woman, 37, and an unidentified man were in the 7500 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue when someone in a passing vehicle fired shots around 1 a.m., police said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene with gunshot wounds to the abdomen. The man was shot in the knee and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition.
No one is in custody and detectives are investigating.
