16-year-old boy among 2 relatives killed in Cicero house fire

A 16-year-old boy was among two family members killed in a fire Wednesday morning in west suburban Cicero.

Around 5:15 a.m., fire officials responded to the 5000 block of West 29th Street for a fire, Cicero spokesperson Ray Hanania said.

Two people died in the blaze, Hanania said. They were identified as Luis Armas Jr., 16, and Aura Armas.

One family member in the home was rescued by firefighters and two other family members were able to escape the home, officials said. Three dogs also made it out safely.

A vacant building near the home also caught fire, Hanania said.

Authorities were investigating the scene.
