2 dead, 1 wounded in Near West Side shooting

Two people are dead and one is injured after they were shot on the Near West Side early Saturday, police said.

The victims were standing on a sidewalk in the 2300 block of West Roosevelt Road around 2:30 a.m. when a black SUV approached and three men got out of the car and fired shots, according to Chicago police. The suspects got back in the vehicle and fled the scene.

One of the victims, a 23-year-old woman, was shot in the chest and abdomen. She was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital. A man, 24, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was also pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, police said.

Another man, 25, was shot in the ankle and was listed in good condition at Rush Hospital.

No one is in custody and detectives are investigating.
