Six people were hospitalized after they were exposed to an unknown substance at a sober-living home in Tarzana on Monday, Dec. 22.
Firefighters responded just after 2 p.m. to the Legacy Healing Center, at 18641 W. Cassandra St., where 17 people were exposed to the substance, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Paramedics took three men and three women to the hospital; they were in fair condition. The other 11 people were treated and released at the scene.
Hazmat specialists said all air readings were normal with no threat to the community.
