Your Shot’s DJ competition is back in Los Angeles, looking for up-and-coming talent in Southern California.
The competition welcomes DJs of all backgrounds to embark on a six-week journey where they will learn the fundamentals of DJing. Select participants will gain hands-on skills in mixing and music selection, live performance, and connect with a community of music enthusiasts.
Contestants will then showcase their talents and perform in front of live audiences in cities including Denver, Miami, Los Angeles, and New York. Your Shot winners will then receive an opening DJ slot at F1 Las Vegas, Insomniac’s EDSea, and more to be announced.

Following registration, prospective participants will share their story at one of the in-person events taking place on Aug. 22 at Bar Standard (Denver), Aug. 29 at M2 Nightclub (Miami), Sept. 12 at Catch One (Los Angeles) and Sept. 19 at Elsewhere (Brooklyn), followed by six-week training sessions for selected participants. The competition will conclude later this fall with two-day showcases in each city at dates to be announced.
“Your Shot is not just a DJ competition,” said Steve Pillemer, Founder and CEO of Your Shot, in a news release. “It is a community for aspiring DJs and music fans to challenge themselves, learn a new skill, and build real relationships. We have now seen firsthand, across both Australia and America, that music, access, and opportunity have an incredible power to improve and change lives.”
Last year, Your Shot’s U.S. debut welcomed more than 500 first-time DJs into its training and mentorship program, culminating in showcase weekends that drew over 10,000 attendees across Los Angeles and New York, according to the release. Crowds watched the performances and crownings of two women DJs: Jelly Bean and Punky Butter. As part of their participation in Your Shot, they will also perform opening sets at Elements Music & Arts Festival and CRSSD Festival this year.
U.S. advisors this year include producer, instrumentalist, DJ, and Femme House co-founder LP Giobbi; Harvey Cohen, president of Live Nation’s Vibee; and The Circuit Group, the management company behind Chris Lake and Fisher.

Since its debut last year, the U.S. season has expanded from two to four cities, with new editions in Denver and Miami alongside returning programs in Los Angeles and New York.
