Some road closures will take place tomorrow in West Hollywood as the city conducts a full-scale emergency response drill.
The drill will get underway in the early morning hours at West Hollywood Park, located at 647 N. San Vicente Blvd., and is expected to last into the afternoon, according to news release issued by the city.
“The drill will impact southbound lanes of North San Vicente Boulevard, which will be closed to traffic from Santa Monica Boulevard to Melrose Avenue,” according to a city statement. “El Tovar Place will also be closed between North Robertson Boulevard and North San Vicente Boulevard.”
The drill is “designed to simulate a coordinated emergency response and will include participation from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department and city of West Hollywood staff.”
Emergency vehicles, personnel and activity will be evident in and around the park, the West Hollywood Library, adjacent parking garages and the West Hollywood Park Aquatic and Recreation Center.
The drill is a training exercise and there is no emergency or threat to the community, but anyone who would otherwise be driving in the area should consider taking alternate routes, city leaders said.
