The shooting was reported at 12:20 a.m. in the 30 block of East 6th Street, Antioch police Lt. John Fortner said in a news release. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died. Police did not identify the man Tuesday.
An investigation is underway into the fatal shooting and evidence is still being collected, according to Fortner. Detectives are also interviewing witnesses and residents in the area, as well as working to identify any suspects or persons of interest.
