The Chicago Police Department on Tuesday issued an alert for businesses after two armed robberies over the weekend in North Park.
Two incidents were reported. One was in the 5100 block of North Kimball Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Friday and the other was in the 3400 block of West Peterson Avenue, about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the alert said.
In both incidents, the robber pulled a handgun on a store clerk, demanded money from the cash register and fled. The robber is described as a male wearing a face mask.
Police ask business owners to be on the lookout and contact Area 5 detectives to report suspicious activity. Chicago police also instructed business owners to ensure that surveillance cameras are working.
